Cat's eye view.

Oh my furr baby Nemmerz, enjoying those low windows, enjoying the view and the sun from our Study.  He is never far from me and likes to look out window while I'm on computer ...........blogging of course.

We have been in the house Since Jan 15th.

Things are moving along, got many ceilings retuxtured and painted due to seams.  We got RH to paint them white, but I wanted to purchase GOOD paint.  It took 10 gallons of paint..........yup 10 gallons to do, foyer, master bed, master bed, family room and kitchen.  I still have half the house to paint, never thought it would take that much...........so BE WARNED!!

Still waiting anxiously for a yard and a driveway to feel like a home. Come on Spring......we are still expecting snow tomorrow......Really Mother Nature?  At this rate I'll never get my driveway!

Come on Springtime!!

  1. What a sweet picture of your fur baby looking out the window! Don't have the low windows in our Florence, but I really like them!

    1. I think another blogger hit the nail on the head, since RH doesn't use primer, the coat that is on there now is very thirsty and really sucks up the paint. I bet you are loving the snow today huh? Ok, enough of this stuff already!!

  4. Cute furbaby! Our windows are higher than yours so they can't look out of them, but they love the sliding glass door in the morning room. They lay in there for hours with the sun shining in on them.

Wow... 10 gallons seems like a lot for just those rooms. Is that paint holding up better than the RH paint so far?

    1. I was floored when PM and hubby said to get TWO 5 gallon buckets...I was like "WHAT"! Yes this paint looks real nice, it's Sherwin Williams Ultra White ceiling paint.

  5. I've heard the builders grade paint is thirsty and it takes a lot to paint over, but wow, 10 gallons. I'll keep that in mind. At least you did think to purchase the better paint and hopefully you won't have to do your ceilings again for a long time.

I'm with you on the spring - took my son to football practice last night and it was FREEZING! It should be at least 10 degrees warmer than it has been running lately, and this coming week is still looking cold for us. I want some warm spring weather soon.

    1. So you enjoying our snow this Monday morning??? Crazy!

Yup that paint sure was thirsty, you figure it was pure joint compound textured no primer used...!

I know its a better paint and we won't have to do those ceilings for very long time!!!

  8. I definitely recommend the Paint in Primer combined, yes it cost more..(8$ more) however you will use less in the long run. I remember painting with regular no primer paint and went through gallons Quick on that RH paint wall.

    1. I know, its insane how thirsty this stuff is...considering that no primer was ever used on these walls makes sense. Still burns me up that with all the money we spent on these homes the couldnt do it RIGHT?

    1. Thanks Jennife, my teenager son even likes the light!

I got the curtains at Sears of all places. They were on sale for $10 a panel.
