If you want to build a shed it must be 15 feet off your property line.
That does not work for most of us in our plan.
3 of us neighbors in a row ...got together and had the Amish build our sheds attached to our homes............all in a row..LOL...within in days!
It is the same group who did our patio roof and are very happy with their work.
We love how it turned out, we all did something slightly different. I won't take pics of their homes for obvious reasons.
Here are before and after pics, dont mind the clutter, that has to go in shed!
Pre-Shed |
Pre-Shed Added the shed elminates all the junk in that back corner that takes away from the look of the fireplace. |
Here she is...... the newest addition the 16x8 attached shed!! |
Side shot, we still have an empty lot next to us! Let's just build it and pull off the band aid...why dont we?? They were able to simply tap into the existing gutter system. |
Clever clever! We can't do that because our egress window is in such an odd place in retrospect but we have a LOT of side house lol if that makes sense. I would love to put a shed there to clear up some of the nonesense in the garage. Definitely a 2014 project.
ReplyDeleteLove the attached shed! I think it looks much better than the stand alone sheds.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't heard from RH about our 10 month either and it is only a week away!
M, funny I heard from companies today, and they are starting to come out next week to start on drywall, I have had Rusmur call to make an appointment, BUT we never actually set up an appointment for our 10 month meeting......so IDK how this really works??
DeleteHello, your shed looks great. My husband and I recently built a home in Pittsburgh, if possible can you send me the email of the Amish builders. My email address is rafatena@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance. Lara
ReplyDeleteLooks great! What a good idea. It wouldn't surprise me to see Ryan Homes offer that as an upgrade in the future it looks so good.

that looks awesome!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome! Definitely on my project list.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!! Your outside is sooo nice ...
ReplyDeletedw.. dw.. you are getting us in trouble with all of these fancy side projects. I am amazed how ingenious this idea is and how perfect the implementation! This has become the number 1 must do project for the summer.. We really don't have any garage space left for anything, never even attempted to park both cars there at once but have to for winter. This idea would work amazingly well between the side windows of the family room and extending out to hammerhead of the driveway. That's typically where the fireplace goes, so something is already in that area in most homes. But we don't have a fireplace. That should give us a minimum of 10x7, but can extend it more if needed, just need to make sure it blends in and doesn't get HOA complaining.. Do you mind sharing dimensions of build and breakdown of project costs? Thanks for sharing. This is absolutely brilliant!
ReplyDeleteElla, thanks for the compliments, I was worried and it turned out a lot better than I anticipated!
DeleteAs far as the breakdown, since we hired the Amish I would not know the breakdown.
If you wants price specifics feel free to email me and we can chat. dlk1613@aol.com just please address yourself in the subject line.
We have already started to build shelves in there also because its like 12 feet high inside :)
Wow! I never even thought to do that! That looks amazing! I hope you post a picture of the inside of the shed!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome... what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThat is incredible! It looks like it was built there as part of the house! Your landscaping, patio, fireplace . . . well, everything . . . looks amazing. Our lots were big enough to have an Amish father and son build a pretty good sized shed in the back of our yard, and it matches the house, but I sure would rather have done it attached to the house the way you did it and save that yard space! What an incredible idea.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Will they travel to my house to do the same??!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your shed! It doesn't look like a shed actually, since you've used the same color of the main house for its roof and siding. Months have passed already, and I'm sure you're still up for some renovations. Hope you'll continue to share your progress in your future posts. :)

I would love to get more details about your project. Can you send me any additional info. I also have a Ryan home and need a little extra storage space. This looks like it would be perfect for us.
ReplyDeleteDavid, what other info would you like? What type of Ryan home do you own?
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in rough cost estimate mainly. We have a Milford model & have been very happy with it but could use a little more storage. If you'd prefer to email me, my address is williadt@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteHey Everyone, I reposted this post today since it's so popular with some additional information. Take a look and let me know if I'm missing anything ya'll are asking for.
