Cleaning tip!

Starting this month I will be privileged enough to have a housekeeper once a month.

There is a longer story behind WHY.......but let's just say Happy Wife Happy Life :)

Anywayz...........

She was here a few days ago for her evaluation of the home and we got to talking about that damn SOAP SCUM ON THE SHOWER glass and I have been struggling with since we bought the home!

Her solution was equal parts of blue Dawn Dish soap and vinegar!  Say what I say?  Yea yea, I have heard of these home remedies and this stuff never works, I've been down this road before with my damn sting bugs!

Holy crap it works, it mean it really really works.

Equal parts of Dawn and Vinegar in a spray bottle, put in microwave for few seconds, spray on shower then rinse with HOT water and..........I'll be damned...

IT WORKS!!  It really really works!

I know this post isnt all that exciting but I was excited when something home remedied actually worked!

Now if only I could find a remedy for crabgrass and a green lawn and termination of sting bugs!

  1. We use a squeegee on our glass after every shower but I will have to try this trick too! I hate stink bugs so much too, they keep getting in the house because my son will go in or out and not shut the door all the way! Really irritating!

  2. We tried the blue Dawn and vinegar method when trying to clean up the shower doors at the old house when we were prepping to sell. It was amazing! We heated the vinegar in the microwave by itself for a minute or two, then added it to the spray bottle with the Dawn. The smell will just about take your breath away, but you literally just spray it on... let it sit... and rinse it off!

  3. We had several inside the home when we moved in, and I just pick them up with a toilet paper towel and flush them down the toilet.

  4. We use a squeegee after each shower also. Put the mixture in a dish wand (see link to picture on Pinterest below) and keep it in your shower or close by. I now have my kids clean their own shower, because the mixture is harmless to their skin, unlike cleaners with bleach in them. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/217509856974481268/

  5. Thanks for the tip! And you are not alone with those pesky stink bugs. We can even open our windows-- they are inside the screen! So annoying.

  7. One of my old neighbors told me to use Calgon on the shower doors to get the soap scum off of them, because it is abrasive. It actually works!
