If you want to build a shed it must be 15 feet off your property line.
That does not work for most of us in our plan.
3 of us neighbors in a row ...got together and had the Amish build our sheds attached to our homes............all in a row..LOL...within in days!
It is the same group who did our patio roof and are very happy with their work.
We love how it turned out, we all did something slightly different. I won't take pics of their homes for obvious reasons.
Here are before and after pics, dont mind the clutter, that has to go in shed!

| Ahh, when the home was just a baby yet :) Anyway, see how that space is perfect for "something" right? But then after I thought, oh crap, we could have extended the morning room instead after I saw how damn easy they build, in one day of course!! Anybody in our area need any framing work I will be happy to pass their info along! |

| I'm embarrassed of all the junk! Anyhow, I chose the windows to blend with the house and it worked out perfect! I can't get over how well it blends. They pulled off the existing siding, insulated and put up drywall inside, then reused the siding to finish the job! Ta Da!! |

| Side shot, we still have an empty lot next to us! Let's just build it and pull off the band aid...why dont we?? They were able to simply tap into the existing gutter system. |

| In the distance you can see the neighbors doing the double doors (not installed yet) on the side instead of a single door, that couldn't be helped in this pic. Sorry neighbors. We chose to do the single door for the looks of it, we wanting it to blend and also its 36" wide and that was just like our old shed and we were able to fit in the lawnmower and wheelbarrow just fine. |

| I could not be happier with the way it blends into the house! I asked hubby if this could be my "garden room", I guess I'll get a "small" section, we will see just where this section is...LOL...back right corner under the circular saw right?..LOL. So..I am thinking about making a small path with stone( or pavers) from the patio to the door on the other side and putting small landscaping in front of the shed along the pathway. Any thoughts you guys? |

Side Note: No one will get back to us about our 10 month, I have called and left messages, emails, its been since Sept. 9th. Horrible!! I have heard horror stories,but that I would be an exception. Guess NOT!

Clever clever! We can't do that because our egress window is in such an odd place in retrospect but we have a LOT of side house lol if that makes sense. I would love to put a shed there to clear up some of the nonesense in the garage. Definitely a 2014 project.

M, funny I heard from companies today, and they are starting to come out next week to start on drywall, I have had Rusmur call to make an appointment, BUT we never actually set up an appointment for our 10 month meeting......so IDK how this really works??

ReplyDeletedw.. dw.. you are getting us in trouble with all of these fancy side projects. I am amazed how ingenious this idea is and how perfect the implementation! This has become the number 1 must do project for the summer.. We really don't have any garage space left for anything,never even attempted to park both cars there at once but have to for winter. This idea would work amazingly well between the side windows of the family room and extending out to hammerhead of the driveway. That's typically where the fireplace goes, so something is already in that area in most homes. But we don't have a fireplace. That should give us a minimum of 10x7, but can extend it more if needed, just need to make sure it blends in and doesn't get HOA complaining.. Do you mind sharing dimensions of build and breakdown of project costs? Thanks for sharing. This is absolutely brilliant!

ReplyDeleteThat is incredible! It looks like it was built there as part of the house! Your landscaping, patio, fireplace . . . well, everything . . . looks amazing. Our lots were big enough to have an Amish father and son build a pretty good sized shed in the back of our yard, and it matches the house, but I sure would rather have done it attached to the house the way you did it and save that yard space! What an incredible idea.
