Find it???
They forgot the windows above the front door??
I ignored my GUT, I questioned it before our closing, I was told NOPE by PM the front door is correct, I had so much on my mind I thought it was just "ME".....
ALWAYS TRUST YOUR GUT!
I went to my SR today asked for the pic of the elevation E offered in this plan, and that pic is listed above.
Update: This of course was fixed no questions asked.

Absolutely ridiculous! I sent you an email....
ReplyDeleteWow... I don't even know what to say other than I hope it's not a really hard fix. Sending positive thoughts!
ReplyDeleteM, I am the only one post build with such issues all the time??
DeleteI know. It seems like you are having all the bad luck. =(
DeleteWow, that is a HUGE mistake. I am so sorry! Hopefully it will get corrected.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get it fixed or they come up with a solution that you feel more than makes up for this mistake!
ReplyDeleteI want it fixed, I am just preparing for a song and a dance, I dont know why, Ive never gotten one before, but how was this missed? I asked and was told it was OK. So it's not like I didnt ask at some point? I keep waiting for the changed the elevation or something...
DeleteDont yall agree the BIG BOX in the middle, just never looked right?
A morning phone call cant come soon enough....
Oh, not another thing after some of the other things you've had to deal with :( HOW could they forget that? I keep getting told that Ryan can't make any changes (including adding keystones above my windows) because they have to build EXACTLY according to plans submitted for the permit. No clue how they could miss a WHOLE WINDOW. Kinda speechless. Yes, I would demand it get fixed too.
ReplyDeleteGood vibes being sent your way.
The middle box did look a little wide but I had not seen a lot of Savoys.
Christina, I know right, how did this get missed? I am anxiously awaiting some kind of excuse. It seems like a pretty big job to fix, I am waiting for.."its the new elevation E". BUT SR said the window should be there.
DeleteI did kinda draw the short straw with this build. But I am trying to roll with the punches and hope it all works out, but this seems like a pretty big demolition/fix and someone on my team will have to admit a mistake and mistakes cost RH a lot of money so my PM tells me, they fight over which contractor will pay the bill, which RH really frowns upon.
Oh my, we will see...
Isn't it the PMs job to make sure the house is build according to the blue-print. I think your PM is the one to blame for any mistakes, especially one this big.

Oh no! I hope it gets fixed!
ReplyDeleteI tried and tried to get a transom window and they would not do it for me. I would raise hell and put a brick under it if I was supposed to get one and they forgot it!
ReplyDeleteIf you have to, insist they do whatever it takes. And don't take no for an answer. When they made a mistake for us they didn't want to fix it and we had to insist. I'm not sure what would have happened if we had already closed.
Tammi, what mistake did they make on your home?
DeleteWhich contractor will pay the bill? Your PM should have caught this. Where was he during your build? This kind of thing is exactly what he's responsible for.
ReplyDeleteTammi, blame is always placed any where but on them. They said the window WAS there, but went missing?????? Really???? And yup no one noticed......they have ordered a new window for me..
ReplyDeleteOh and my AC doesnt work either...LOL...
See my next post.
ReplyDeleteThey are going to fix it.
PM said it was with the "original tinker toy set" that came, but must have magically disappeared with "Santa Clause" and no one knew where it went.
Funny, no one noticed this large window missing during the framing (even me, shame on me).
Today my AC doesnt work, they are sending people out for that too.
Sorry for all your problems with Ryan, I hope my experience will be better as we are still waiting to start building.
DeleteSounds like Ryan simply hire bunch of random off the street (no skills) to build your house. I hope they will compensate you for it. You never know what other mistakes are hidden to be discovered later and it's too late. Make sure you hire a 3rd party new inspection and have Ryan fix everything thats in the report.
By the way all, it was fixed in no time, I basically one day because the framing was underneath to support it, so not invasive at all! Looks better than ever now :)
