Did NOT have RH put on shutters because I wanted to be "different" but now I am debating whether I want them hung or not.
Young men at work...LOL.......With Shutters???
Without shutters and without garage door hardware? |
With hardware? It's only taped right now for pics...hehehehe. |
I am asking for ya'lls input??
So far it has been a YES for both.
Also we used REV A SHELF from lowes to install our garbage can. $44 plus extra $15 for the kit that attaches the door. I did not want to have to open the door then pull out the can, this allows the door to attach and you just PULL.
Also hung shelves on the inside of our pantry, cost $39 at Lowes, I tried putting light objects on there and I'm still worried it's a little too heavy for the door to handle.
Don't judge my food selection, this is mostly teenager food!! |
Rev a shelf $44 at Lowes. |
Not the biggest can I would like, but I did not want to take up one of my larger cabinets, we are using our recyle bin a lot more now to reduce garbage! |
That's such a good idea to attach the door to pull out rather than open and then pull out the trash can! Definitely something I'm going to have to implement once we move in.
ReplyDeleteWe have the same for our trash can. Love it! I vote for shutters and garage hardware.
ReplyDeleteI vote yes for shutters and yes to garage hardware, Also love the trashcan I have been eyeing them at Lowes myself.
ReplyDeleteI definitely like the shutters. I am still undecided on the hardware. I don't think it's needed but if you like it...go for it.
ReplyDeleteYes.. to both
ReplyDeleteI say yes to both!
ReplyDeleteAsia, me too, thanks.
DeleteI prefer the look with shutters and with garage door hardware. I thought about doing one of the trash cans in the cabinet, but I would have been stuck with a really little can that would have to be emptied all the time or I would have had to use a big cabinet. We ended up buying a nice trash can that we put on the wall by the refrigerator instead.
ReplyDeleteGreat view!
My vote is a yes on the garage door hardward and a I think I'm leaning more towards a yes on the shutters too (although I like your wanting to be different idea). Look at all that help with the manual labor :)
ReplyDeleteNice pantry organization and isn't it nice having enough cabinet space where you can actually use a cabinet for the trash can?
Beautiful view!
I like the shutters and the hardware! It gives more dimension and depth to the front of the house. I will also be doing the same thing in our kitchen with the garbage can, it will be one of my first small projects I tackle! And I feel you about these darn Pittsburgh winters! I'm lucky to be closing at the end of next month, Memorial day weekend to be exact! Seemed like the perfect time to get into a new place!
ReplyDeleteRachel, I agree it give it definition, I was wondering how to describe it........You nailed it.... definition...Wait till my next post, they built my elevation wrong!! I knew it, look at my picture in this blog (my blog pic - see the windows above the door, they forgot those!! - Wish me luck - I asked back then if it was the correct elevation after the build, I was told Yes and I went with it.......turns out I was right, they were wrong)
Deleteyes to both .. love the shutters and garage hardware.. we wantto spice up our garage too that way !!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the input, I appreciate it!!
DeleteDefinitely a yes to the garage hardware. I like it with and wihtout the shutters (since you have the nice brick).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the rev-a-shelf info for the trash can! Will definitely be looking up this post after we move in so we can do the same.
I definitely like both as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone so much for all your input, I truly appreciate it! I am going to do both shutters and garage door hardware, thanks for the advice.
ReplyDeleteThe shutters really improve the architecture of your home. I suggest you put both the custom home shutters and garage hardware as well. The house looks amazing and I am already excited to see the future lawn.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, thanks for the input I appreciate it...we plan on doing both. right now our driveway is prepped for the concrete and our sidewalk had to be teared out and done again. Not to mention the transom window they forgot that they will be fixing soon. talk about my house being a HOT MESS!
DeleteSomeday I hope for landscaping but my standards aren't too high for Ryan at this point!!
I would definitely say with shutters. And if you do decide to put shutters up make sure you use interior shutters as well. They will add to the ambiance and make your house look warmer.
