We have Walls - Day 16 & 17!

Day 16 - On Monday Oct 22nd we went out to find all the basement forms up and huge trucks there with a crew filling the forms with concrete with a pump truck.

I stood there for an hour watching, taking pics, wow they work fast they had those forms filled with concrete in an hour and all those workers climbing like monkeys on the forms and balancing on the top of them with no fear of falling, it was so cool to watch progress and just not see if afterwards..

Above........Waiting for the pump truck to fill up with concrete to start..

Filling the forms with the pumper truck..

Above - a cool looking machine.

DAY 17 - Tues Oct. 23rd FORMS REMOVED AND WE NOW HAVE SOLID BASEMENT WALLS.

Above is the making of our Egress window in the basement.

Below is a pic from the side of our home, I'm in love with the farm that surrounds us.

Also a lot move gravel was dropped off today as well.

Not sure what will happen tomorrow?

These are kind of long days, working, then going out to the site and taking pics and blogging, but so worth it, such an experience.

  4. Oh, and about the egress window... I LOVE ours. It brings in nice extra light and it opens so you can actually get fresh air down there. Well worth the upgrade charge.

  5. DW, You must be having a BALL!! AND smiling from ear to ear, the sad party is officially over!! The next two weeks you are probably going to step into OCD alert!! It's so hard not too when you get to witness the inner workings of your home.

    LOVE THE BIG M monster!

  7. That truck was so cool, they filled those forms in a hour!! Amazing!! Today I watched them waterproof, they said would take an hour and then that was it for the day...bummer, it was 80 degrees today, thought they would take advantage of it, so little was done today, I am guessing they will finish lying the pipe and then fill in with dirt........So what you guys thinking about Hurrican Sandy?
